Wristwatch and Angel Trap

By Miller Ganovsky

Issue 002: Gravity

1

Dirt in his mouth he
had Earth spit bore
soil, his dark tongue
lapped organ chords lapped
true love lapped saltwater lapping peachy
legs lapped his own two hands lapping peachy
legs lapped the suns
light reflected on his cheek

2

Whole worlds you
said they looked like
landscapes
glittering ruby red, bonewhite, green
carcasses, carrion, splayed
under bright light. Say
you understand stillness,
the sill by the bed

3

Ribs revolted angelic
her hands to the key acidic holding
mine in yours
oh to be free
oh to be free oh to be touched
by you inside of me. sender lips
kissing eggwhite paper, sender eyes
blue vision of a sailor

Wristwatch

Tapped like the victim of an agent a sunset
skier’s dream range of mountain all peachy glory

heights of hip, knee, toe bone completely
wet and heard a seashell brought to an ear

taken from the sweet sleep of your pocket I’m tapped
like a maple—slow, frequent, a prototype testing violent waters

weld it new blades or season the oars they breathe
each crashing dynamic with sea lungs every lost sailor practicing patience

waiting at the waterfloor or inside some gilled
beast all those men now memory and flavor

the drawbridge letting down on the bay casts shadows like imagined airships
when you look away and the instruments crafted are salted into protection

heavy my heart stands in place and waits I’m where you left
it my waist echoes in widening controlled ohs

like the lake’s surface calls outwards from a trout’s dive or a child’s
skipping stone. You say to spread like water and keep making guns

with your hands I keep
only seeing the handles so handless placated you’re a clock broken

some metal piece purely to touch and hold your heat becomes time
a telling offspring a little devil rollicking

in June’s languid enormity I’m just in a gold wristwatch I’m just
unable to put more on with you I only have hours

you’re a careful hunter from a long line of them
in the glade you two-step creep slow kissing one eye to scope

the other closed so you see me with one and with
the other another thing you want focused or drawn

from past sometimes I feel so full of slaughter I’m maybe
part of your family I’m maybe part of mine rabbit or woven skin wearer

I’m so without warning a slab warm
from sun I’m so without warning in love
